___ जो मुनि मोह से रहित सम्यक्-तत्त्व के जानने वाले हैं, विशुद्ध तप में रत रहने वाले हैं, संयम और आर्जव गुणों से युक्त हैं वे पूर्वकृत कर्मों को क्षय करते
हैं और नवीन कर्मों को नहीं बाँधते॥६८॥ Koi जो मुनि सदा उपशांत, ममतारहित है, परिग्रह से मुक्त है और आत्म-विद्या से 6
युक्त हैं तथा शरदकालीन चन्द्रमा के समान विमल (स्वच्छ) हैं, वे समस्त जीवों के रक्षक संयमी मोक्ष में जाते हैं, अन्यथा वैमानिक देवों में तो अवश्य ही उत्पन्न होते हैं।६९॥
ऐसा मैं कहता हूँ।
66, 67, 68, 69. A shraman who is involved in beautifying his body is drawn into the bondage of such tough and slippery karmas that drown him deeper into the endless expanse of the deep ocean that is mundane existence.
The Tirthankars have said that the infatuation with beautification is the cause of bondage of karmas. As it is extremely sinful it is prohibited for an ascetic who is the protector of the six classes of living beings.
The detached ascetic who know the fundamentals, indulge in strict austerities, are disciplined and guileless, endeavor to shed the karmas already acquired and stop the inflow of fresh karmas. . . . . . So I say.
