४ : कालेण निक्खमे भिक्खू कालेण य पडिक्कमे।
अकालं च विवज्जित्ता काले कालं समायरे॥ __ जिस क्षेत्र में भिक्षा का जो समय हो, साधु को उसी समय भिक्षा के लिए वहाँ जाना चाहिए और उचित समय पर ही वापस लौट आना चाहिए। अकाल को टालकर समय और काल के नियमानुसार क्रियाओं में प्रवृत्ति करे॥४॥
4. An ascetic should go out to seek alms and return only during the traditionally allotted period of a specific geographic area. He should avoid odd times and indulge in any activity only at its proper time. विशेषार्थ : ___ श्लोक ४. जिस कार्य का जो नियत समय है वही उसको करने का काल है और अन्य कार्य के लिए वह अकाल है। साधु की चर्या नियत होती है, नियमित होती है अतः काल का व्यतिक्रम मानसिक असन्तोष पैदा करता है। ELABORATION :
(4) The traditionally allotted time for any specific activity is the right time to engage in it. For all other activities that time is the wrong time. An ascetic follows an organized routine and so any departure from it causes mental disturbance. अकाल प्रवृत्ति
५ : अकाले चरसि भिक्खू कालं न पडिलेहसि।
अप्पाणं च किलामेसि सन्निवेसं च गरिहसि॥ _हे मुनि ! तुम पहले तो अकाल में भिक्षा के लिये जाते हो, भिक्षाकाल को देखते ही नहीं हो तथा फिर अकाल में भिक्षा न मिलने पर फलस्वरूप अपने
आपको खिन्न, दुःखित करते हो और व्यर्थ ही गाँव-क्षेत्र की निन्दा भी करते हो। (यह श्लोक अकालचारी मुनि को लक्ष्य करके कहा गया है)॥५॥ | १६८
