ELABORATION:
(13) Anunnaye — not to move high. This term has two meanings. In a physical context it means to move keeping a high line of vision or looking at the sky. In a mental context it means to move with a feeling of pride for being a high-born or other such status. (Dashavaikalik Sutra by Acharya Shri Atmaram ji M., page 158)
Navanaye-not to move low. According to Acharya Shri Atmaram ji M. to move low also has two meanings like those of moving high. In physical context it means to move keeping a low line of vision so that over six feet distant things are not visible. In a mental context it means to move with a depressed state of mind or inferiority complex caused by failure to get alms.
१४ : दवदवस्स न गच्छेज्जा भासमाणो अ गोयरे । हसंतो नाभिगच्छेज्जा कुलं उच्चावयं सया ॥
साधु गोचरी के लिए ऊँचे-नीचे कुल में जाते समय कभी भी जल्दी-जल्दी या दौड़ते हुए गमन न करे, बातचीत करता हुआ एवं हँसता हुआ भी गमन न करे ॥१४॥
14. While going to families of high and low status to seek alms, an ascetic should not walk fast or run. He should also neither talk or laugh while walking.
विशेषार्थ :
श्लोक १४. कुलं उच्चावयं - कुलमुच्चावचं - उच्च-नीच कुल में अर्थात् महल, हवेली आदि विशाल भवन, द्रव्य से उच्च-कुल कहलाते हैं। जाति, विद्या आदि से समृद्ध व्यक्तियों के घर भाव से उच्च कुल कहलाते हैं। तृण कुटी, झोंपड़ी, धन आदि द्रव्य से नीच कुल कहलाते हैं और जाति, विद्या आदि से हीन लोगों के घर भाव से नीच कुल कहलाते हैं । ( हारिभद्रीय टीका, पृ. १६६ )
