चित्रक्रम १८ : गजसुकुमाल की दीक्षा . __ दृश्य १-गजसुकुमाल दीक्षा के लिए तैयार हो, भगवान अरिष्टनेमि के चरणों में उपस्थित होकर बोले-प्रभु ! जल में स्थित कमल की भाँति मैं विषयों से निर्लिप्त जीवन जीना चाहता हूँ। मुझे अपना शिष्य बनाइए। माता देवकी एवं पिता वसुदेव जी ने प्रभु से प्रार्थना की हे भन्ते ! हमारे चक्षु के समान प्रिय पुत्र को आप शिष्य-भिक्षा के रूप में स्वीकार कीजिए।
दृश्य २-मुनि वेष धारण किये गजमुकुमाल भगवान के श्रीमुख से संयम दीक्षा का पाठ ग्रहण करते हैं।

Scene 1. Being ready for consecration and standing near the lotus feet of Bhagan'ana Aristanemi, thus spoke Gajusukumāla unto him-Prubiu (Reverend Sir)! wish to lead my life disinclined to worldly passions, as the lotus remaining in water, does not wet. Please accept me as your pupil. Mother Devaki and father Vasudeva also requested-Bhante ! Please accept, our son-who is so dear as our eyes, as your disciple.
Scene 2. Wearing the robe of a monk, Gujusukumälu accepts the consecration schedule from the mouth of Bhagawana.
