कालान्तर में एकदा देवकी माता जब पुण्यशाली जन के योग्य सुखशय्या पर सोई हुई थी, तब एक सिंह का स्वप्न देखा । स्वप्न देखकर वह जागृत हई । उठकर राजा वसुदेव जी के पास आई और स्वप्न का वृत्तान्त कहा । इस प्रकार अपने मनोरथ की पूर्णता को निश्चित समझकर देवकी हर्षित एवं प्रसन्न होती हुई सुखपूर्वक अपने गर्भ का परिवहन (पालन-पोषण)
करने लगी। laxim 20 :
After that Srikrsna Vasudeva came out of oratory and reached mother Devaki. Touching her feet, he said-O mother ! my one uterine brother will surely be born. Your desire will be fulfilled. So you should not worry. Thus he assured mother Devaki by sweet and agreeable words and then went back to the direction from which he had come. Then at any other time mother Devaki was sleeping on a luxurious (worth sleeping meritorious persons) bed, she saw a lion in dream. She woke up, came to king Vasudeva and told him her dream. Thus understanding the fulfilment of desire definitely, she became glad a . happily began to

तए णं सा देवई देवी नवहं मासाणं जासुमणा-रत्तबन्धुजीवयंलक्खारस-सरसपारिजातक-तरुणदिवायर-समप्पभं सव्व-नयणकंतं सुकुमालं जाव सुरूवं गयतालुयसमाणं दारयं पयाया । जम्मणं जहा मेहकुमारे जाव । जम्हा णं अम्हे इमे दारए गयतालुसमाणे तं होउ णं अम्हं एयस्स दारयस्स नामधेज्जे गयसुकुमाले । तएणं तस्स दारगस्स अम्मा पियरे नाम करेंति
गयसुकुमाले त्ति । सेसं जहा मेहे जाव अलं भोगसमत्थे जाए यावि होत्था। सूत्र २१:
तत्पश्चात् नव मास का गर्भकाल पूर्ण होने पर देवकी देवी ने जपा कुसुम, लाल बंधु जीवक पुष्प के समान, लाक्षारस, श्रेष्ठ पारिजात एवं उदीयमान
