२८१. से भिक्खू वा २ अभिकंखेज्जा अंतरुच्छ्यं वा उच्छंगंडियं वा उच्छ्चोयगं वा उच्छुसालगं वा भोत्तए वा पायए वा। से जं पुण जाणेज्जा अंतरुच्छुयं वा जाव डालगं वा सअंडं जाव णो पडिगाहेज्जा।
२८१. साधु-साध्वी ईख के पर्व का मध्य भाग, ईख की गँडेरी, ईख का छिलका या ईख का अन्दर का गर्भ, ईख की छाल या रस, ईख के छोटे-छोटे बारीक टुकड़े खाना या पीना चाहे तो पहले वह जान ले कि वह ईख के पर्व का मध्य भाग यावत् ईख के छोटे-छोटे बारीक टुकड़े अण्डों यावत् मकड़ी के जालों से युक्त हैं तो अप्रासुक एवं अनेषणीय जानकर ग्रहण न करे।
281. If the ascetic wants to eat the middle portion, slices, skin, pith or small pieces of sugar-cane or suck the sugar-cane he a should find if these are infested with eggs (etc. up to cobwebs). If
so he should not eat considering them to be faulty and unacceptable.
२८२. से भिक्खू वा २ से जं पुण जाणेज्जा अंतरुच्छुयं वा जाव डालगं वा अप्पंडं जाव नो पडिगाहेज्जा, अतिरिच्छच्छिण्णं तिरिच्छच्छिण्णं तहेव।
२८२. यदि यह जाने कि वह ईख के पर्व का मध्य भाग यावत् ईख के छोटे-छोटे कोमल टुकड़े अण्डों आदि से रहित हैं, किन्तु तिरछे कटे हुए नहीं हैं, तो उन्हें अनेषणीय जानकर ग्रहण न करे। यदि वह यह जाने कि वे इक्षु-अवयव अण्डों आदि से रहित हैं, तिरछे कटे हुए भी हैं, तो उन्हें प्रासुक एवं एषणीय जानकर ग्रहण कर सकता है।
282. If the ascetic finds that the said parts of a sugar-cane are not infested with eggs (etc. up to cobwebs) but are neither sliced nor cut into pieces, he should not take considering them to be faulty and unacceptable. If he finds that the said parts of a sugar-cane are not infested with eggs (etc. up to cobwebs) and are also sliced and cut into pieces, he may take them considering them to be faultless and acceptable.
