________________ The commentators, Churni and Vritti, say that with regard to the subjects of five sense organs an ascetic should say impartially what really is. While speaking he should not allow his mind and speech to be prejudiced by attachment and aversion. 244242 भाषण- विवेक २१०. से भिक्खू वा २ वंता कोहं च माणं च मायं च लोभं च अणुवीयि णिट्ठाभासी निसम्मभासी अतुरियभासी विवेगभासी समियाए संजए भासं भासेज्जा । एयं खलु तस्स भिक्खुस्स वा भिक्खुणीए वा सामग्गियं जं सव्वट्ठेहिं सहिएहिं सदा जज्जा -त्ति बेमि । ॥ बीओ उद्देसओ सम्मत्तो ॥ ॥ चउत्थं अज्झयणं सम्मत्तं ॥ २१०. साधु या साध्वी क्रोध, मान, माया और लोभ का परित्याग करने वाले समग्र विचारपूर्वक निर्णय होने पर बोलने वाले और सुन-समझकर धीरे-धीरे तथा विवेकपूर्वक बोलने वाले हो, और भाषासमिति से युक्त संयत भाषा का व्यवहार करे । यही वास्तव में साधु-साध्वी के आचार की समग्रता जिसमें वह सभी ज्ञानादि अर्थों से युक्त होकर सदा प्रयत्नशील रहे । - ऐसा मैं कहता हूँ । PRUDENCE IN SPEAKING 210. A bhikshu or bhikshuni should be free of anger, conceit, deceit and greed. He should speak only on arriving at a conclusion after due deliberation. He should speak slowly and sagaciously after listening and understanding. And his speech and language should be self-regulated and disciplined.
