१४५. (नौका में बैठे) साधु-साध्वी नौका में छिद्र से पानी भरता हुआ देखकर नाविक के पास जाकर इस प्रकार न कहे कि “आयुष्मन् गृहपते ! तुम्हारी इस नौका में छिद्र द्वारा पानी आ रहा है, नौका जल से परिपूर्ण हो रही है।" इस प्रकार अपने मन एवं वचन को उस ओर नहीं लगाता हुआ स्थिर रहे। वह शरीर एवं उपकरणादि पर मूर्छा न रखे तथा अपनी लेश्या को संयमबाह्य प्रवृत्ति में न लगाये, अपनी आत्मा को एकत्वभाव में लीन रखे तथा ज्ञान-दर्शन-चारित्ररूप समाधि में स्थित रहकर अपने शरीर-उपकरण आदि से ममत्व हटा ले।
इस प्रकार नौका द्वारा पार करने योग्य जल को पार करने के बाद तीर्थंकरों द्वारा बताई गई विधि अनुसार उसका पालन करता हुआ विचरण करे।
-ऐसा मैं कहता हूँ।
145. If a bhikshu or bhikshuni riding a boat happens to see water rushing in from a hole in the boat he should not approach the boatman and say—“Long lived householder ! Water is leaking in from the hole in your boat or the boat is getting filled with water.” He should not divert his mind or speech thus but remain still. He should have no attachment for his body and equipment. He should not divert his energy towards activities outside his code of discipline. He should focus his attention to oneness with soul, remain composed in his discipline of right knowledge-perception-conduct and abandon his fondness for body and equipment.
After crossing the water-body aboard a boat this way he should resume his wandering following the procedure laid down by Tirthankars.
-~-So I say. विवेचन-इन सूत्रों में नौकारोहण की बताई गई विधि विशेष ध्यान देने योग्य है
(१) जहाँ पर इतना जल हो कि पैरों से चलकर वह मार्ग पार नहीं किया जा सकता हो तो साधु जलयान में बैठकर उस मार्ग को पार कर सकता है।
(२) ऊर्ध्वगामिनी और अधोगामिनी नौका से शास्त्रकार का क्या अभिप्राय है यह मूल सूत्र में स्पष्ट नहीं है, परन्तु आचार्य श्री आत्माराम जी म. के अनुमान से ऊर्ध्वगामिनी नौका का अर्थ आचारांग सूत्र (भाग २)
