NINE TYPES OF PRUDENCE OF STAY
97. An ascetic should not use upashrayas, garden-houses, residences of householders, hermitage or other such abodes where mendicants of other faiths frequent, for his month-long or other specific period stay. __ ९८. से आगंतारेसु वा ४ जे भयंतारो उडुबद्धियं वा वासावासियं वा कप्पं उवाइणित्ता तत्थेव भुज्जो संवसंति अयमाउसो कालातिक्कंतकिरिया वि भवति।
९८. हे आयुष्मन् ! जिन धर्मशाला आदि स्थान पर साधु भगवन्तों ने ऋतुबद्ध मासकल्प या वर्षावास कल्प किया है, उन्हीं स्थानों में अगर वे बिना कारण पुनः पुनः निवास करते हैं, तो वे कालातिक्रान्त क्रिया दोष के भागी होते हैं।
98. If a bhikshu or bhikshuni uses time and again for his stay without special reason an upashraya or other such places of stay already used by other ascetics as their seasonal month long-stay or monsoon-stay, O long lived one ! He is guilty of the fault of transgressing the periodic code (Kalatikranta kriya).
९९. से आगंतारेसु वा ४ जे भयंतारो उडुबद्धियं वा वासावासियं वा कप्पं उवाइणावित्ता तं दुगुणाति दुगुणेण अपरिहरित्ता तत्थेव भुज्जो संवसंति। अयमाउसो उवट्ठाणकिरिया यावि भवति।
९९. हे आयुष्मन् ! जिन साधु भगवन्तों ने धर्मशाला आदि में, ऋतुबद्धकल्प या वर्षावासकल्प व्यतीत किये हैं, अन्य स्थान पर उससे दुगुना-दुगुना काल बिताये बिना पुनः उन्हीं स्थानों पर आकर निवास करते हैं तो उनकी वह शय्या उपस्थान क्रिया दोष से युक्त होती है।
99. If the ascetics return to stay at upashrayas or other such places of stay where they made seasonal month long-stay or monsoon-stay without spending double the time at other place, O long lived one! They are guilty of the fault of transgressing the re-stay code (Upasthana kriya).
