३४. से भिक्खू वा २ से जं पुण जाणेज्जा-पिहुयं वा बहुरयं वा जाव चाउलपलंब वा अस्संजए भिक्खुपडियाए चित्तमंताए सिलाए जाव मक्कडासंताणाए कोटिंसु वा कोटेंति वा कोट्टिस्संति वा उप्फणिंसु वा ३। तहप्पगारं पिहुयं वा जाव चाउलपलंब वा अफासुयं जाव णो पडिगाहेज्जा।
३४. भिक्षु व भिक्षुणी गृहस्थ के घर में आहार के लिए जाते समय यह जान ले कि शालि-धान, जौ, गेहूँ आदि में सचित्त रज (तुष सहित) बहुत है, अग्नि में पूंजे हुए हैं, किन्तु वे आधे पके हैं, कण सहित चावल के लम्बे दाने सिर्फ एक बार भुने हुए या कुटे हुए हैं, अतः असंयमी गृहस्थ भिक्षु के लिए सचित्त शिला पर, सचित्त मिट्टी के ढेले पर, घुन लगे हुए लक्कड़ पर या दीमक लगे हुए जीवाधिष्ठित पदार्थ पर, अण्डे सहित, प्राण सहित या मकड़ी आदि के जालों सहित शिला पर उन्हें कूट चुका है, कूट रहा है या कूटेगा; उसके पश्चात् वह उन (मिश्र जीवयुक्त) दानों को लेकर उफन चुका है, उफन रहा है या उफनेगा; इस प्रकार के (भूसी से पृथक् किए जाते हुए) चावल आदि अन्नों को अप्रासुक और अनेषणीय जानकर साधु ग्रहण न करे। CENSURE OF SACHIT-MIXED FOOD
34. A bhikshu or bhikshuni while entering the house of a layman in order to seek alms should find if rice, barley, wheat and other food grains have a large quantity of chaff; although roasted but not fully; long unprocessed rice are only once roasted or pounded. Because of this, that indisciplined layman has already pounded, is still pounding, or will pound these on sachit (contaminated with living organisms) rock, lump of sand, rotten piece of wood, a thing infested with white ants other insects, eggs, beings or cob-webs (etc.) and after that he has winnowed, is winnowing or will winnow those grains (contaminated). In such case the ascetic should refrain from taking such rice or other grains considering them to be contaminated and unacceptable.
