Illustration No. 6 मनुष्य एवं वनस्पति में समान वेदना पृथ्वीकाय के समान वनस्पति में भी अव्यक्त चेतना होती है। दुःख की अनुभूति भी अव्यक्त होती है। विशेषता यह है कि मनुष्य एवं वनस्पति में विकास, वृद्धि तथा विनाश आदि में भी बहुत समानता है। जो प्रत्यक्ष दीखती है। जैसे
१. जन्मधर्मा-मनुष्य भी जन्म के बाद धीरे-धीरे बढ़ता है; वनस्पति भी धीरे-धीरे बढ़ती है।
२. वृद्धिधर्मा-मनुष्य को भी वृद्धि के लिए भोजन, पानी की आवश्यकता होती है; वनस्पति को भी प्रकाश, पानी, खाद आदि की जरूरत होती है।
३. युवावस्था में मनुष्य पूर्ण विकसित हो जाता है; तरुण होने पर वनस्पति भी।
४. जीर्णधर्मा-वृद्ध अवस्था आने पर मनुष्य का शरीर जीर्ण हो जाता है; वनस्पति भी, पत्ते पीले होने व टहनियाँ टूटने के रूप में जीर्ण होती हैं।
५. म्लानधर्मा--मनुष्य चोट लगने पर जख्मी हो जाता है; वनस्पति पर भी प्रहार करने से जख्मी होती है। . ६. रोगधर्मा-मनुष्य शरीर पर अनेक प्रकार के रोग आक्रमण करते हैं जो समय-समय पर पीड़ित करते रहते हैं, और उपचार न होने पर मारक बन सकते हैं; वनस्पति पर भी यह बात लागू होती है। ७. मरणधर्मा-आयु समाप्त होने पर मनुष्य की तरह वृक्ष आदि भी टूटकर गिर जाते हैं।

PLANT-BODIED BEINGS Like earth-bodied beings, plant-bodied beings also have inarticulate consciousness. The feeling of pain is also inexpressible. However, there are marked and evident similarities in the development, growth and termination of humans and plants. For example ____ 1. After being born, human body slowly develops; plants also follow the same pattern.
2. Human body requires food and water for growth; plants also need the ___light, water, fertilizer, etc.
3. At a certain age human body becomes fully developed; so does a plant.
4. In old age human body becomes weak and emaciated; so does a plant, and it is evident in the form of withered and pale branches and leaves.
5. The human body is wounded when hit; so is a plant.
6. The human body is prone to numerous diseases which attack it time and again and may prove to be fatal if not treated; same is true for plants. 7. At the end of their life-span plants also die and fall just like humans.
