Elaboration-The commentary (Vritti) has given two meanings of the phrase samiyae dhamme ariehim paveiye
(1) The Aryas (Tirthankars) have said the religion to be in equanimity.
(2) Bhagavan has propagated religion with equanimity (impartiality) among the nobles like desharya ( from a noble country), bhasharya (having noble language) and charitarya (noble in conduct).
तीन प्रकार के साधक
१५९. जे पुव्वुट्ठाई णो पच्छाऽणिवाई | जे पुव्वुट्ठाई पच्छाणिवा । जे णो पुव्वुट्ठाई णो पच्छाणिवाई |
सेवितारिसए सिया जे परिण्णाय लोगमणुस्सिओ ।
एयं नियाय मुणिणा पवेइयं इह आणाकंखी पंडिए अणि पुव्वावररायं जयमाणे सया सीलं संपेहाए सुणिया भवे अकामे अझंझे ।
१५९. (साधक तीन प्रकार के होते हैं ) - (१) कोई एक साधक पहले साधना मार्ग के लिए उद्यत होता है जीवन पर्यन्त उत्थित ही रहता है, कभी नहीं गिरता । (२) कोई साधक साधना के लिए पहले उठता है, किन्तु बाद में गिर जाता है। (३) कुछ एक साधक ऐसे होते हैं जो न तो पहले उठते हैं और न ही बाद में गिरते हैं।
जो मुनि संसार को त्यागकर पुनः उसी का आश्रय लेता है, वह भी वैसा ही (गृहस्थ तुल्य) हो जाता है।
भावों के इस उत्थान-पतन को जानकर मुनीन्द्र (भगवान) ने कहा है - वह पंडित आज्ञा में रुचि रखे। स्नेह - आसक्ति से दूर रहे। रात्रि के प्रथम और अन्तिम प्रहर में ( स्वाध्याय और ध्यान में ) यतनावान् रहे। शील आचार का सतत सम्प्रेक्षण - अनुशीलन करे। शील का फल सुनकर काम और लोभेच्छा का त्याग कर दे ।
THREE TYPES OF ASPIRANTS
159. (Seekers are of three types – ) (1) Some seeker first. prepares himself for the path of religious practices and then all the life he continues to rise and never falls. (2) Some seeker first rises and then falls. (3) Some seekers are such that neither they rise first nor do they fall afterwards.
