लोक विपश्यना "आयत चक्खू लोग विपस्सी, लोगस्स अहोभागं जाणइ,
उड्ढे भागं जाणइ, तिरियं भागं जाणइ।" दीर्घदर्शी साधक ध्यान के समय लोक विपश्यना अर्थात् लोक पर चिन्तन करता है। जैसे
लोक का अधो भाग अपने अशुभ कर्मों के कारण सतत घोर कष्टों आदि से पीड़ित है। साधक अधोगति के उन कारणों पर भी विचार करता है और उन्हें छोड़ता है।
लोक के मध्य भाग में तिर्यंच व मनुष्य अपने अशुभ तथा शुभ कर्मों के कारण दुःख से त्रस्त हैं। साधक उन गतियों के कारण का भी विचार करता है। फिर उनका वर्जन करता है। - लोक के ऊर्ध्व भाग में देवता आदि निवास करते हैं। वे भी विषय-वासना में आसक्त हुए शोक आदि
से पीड़ित होते हैं। साधक उस गति के कारणों पर विचार करता है। ____ लोक में आत्मा ऊर्ध्व लोक से तिर्यक् लोक में आता है, वहाँ से अधोलोक में जाता है, पुनः तिर्यक् व ऊर्ध्व लोक में गमन करता है। इस प्रकार कर्मों के कारण सतत परिभ्रमण करता रहता है। इस प्रकार लोक दर्शन या लोक विपश्यना करने वाला लोक परिभ्रमण से मुक्त हो जाता है।
-अ. २/४/९२ PONDER OVER THE WOLRD A farsighted aspirant should ponder over the world while doing meditation. For example
The lower part of the world is the Nether world where beings are always tormented. The aspirant thinks about the causes of such birth and avoids them.
The middle part of the world is the animal world where humans and animals suffer due their sinful deeds. An aspirant thinks about the causes of birth in these genuses and then avoids them.
The upper part of the world is inhabited by gods. They are also tormented due to their cravings for mundane pleasures. An aspirant thinks about the causes of such birth and avoids them.
In this world the soul transmigrates from upper to middle world and then to the lower world and again to middle and upper worlds. Thus it moves around continuously due to its karmas.
The seeker who thus ponders over the world gets liberated from these wanderings in the world.
