What are the five observances of the vow of celibacy? The five observances of the vow of celibacy are: to give up listening to stories extending attachment for women (stri-r ga-kath - ravanaty ga), to give up looking at sexually arousing parts of the bodies of women (tanmanoh ranga-nirikșana-ty ga), to give up recalling past sexual pleasures (p rvarat nusmarana-ty ga), to give up stimulating and delicious food and drinks (vrsyesta-rasa-ty ga) and to avoid adornment of own body (sva arira-samsk ra-ty ga).
