Keśava (Srimati's soul) also became Pratendra (Prati + Indra) in this very heaven on the termination of his life in Susimā. He had practised austerities after the death of Subidhi, and was rewarded by a birth in the sixteenth heaven. The dignity of a Pratendra which he attained was almost just as high as that of the Indra himself.
The four princes, too, who had been the Lion, the Pig, the Monkey and the Mongoose, respectively, in their earlier incarnations, arrived in this very heaven, as the result of austerities practised by them. All of them were great friends, and constituted, as it were, one family!
9. Emperor Bajranabhi All greatness is the result of virtue actively practised by the soul, in some form. Most wonderful good luck results from the observance of the rules of piety and virtue when observed in the Right Way. Right Faith in itself is the greatest of boons, and those who acquire it attain to the highest positions in life, are secure against degradation in transmigration, and speedily get rid of the liability to repeated births and deaths, in the course of a few lives! The reason for all this is that the old kind of bonds are not forged by the soul after the acquisition of the true insight or Faith, and the practising of rigid self-denial
