Fear, worry, boredom, insecurity, disgust - as well as dissatisfaction, exhaustion, indignation, aversion, and gloating, - are oppressive moods that make life miserable.
They are mere moods - i.e. emotional patterns - we drape onto an otherwise trouble-free reality.
Impeding moods can ruin long stretches of our life by casting dark clouds above it, - though there's no physical cause to bring this about. They impede growth by diverting substantial energy to pointless issues.
Oppressive moods influence our life with less intensity than anger, arrogance, deception and addiction. Yet most annoyingly they attach to ever different subjects right after we escaped their influence in one particular area of our life. They challenge us because they pop up again and again with ever new worries, fears, dissatisfaction etc.
