________________ SIKHISM Soweth himself, eateth himself. [Guru i. Japaji.] • In the field of karma be- reapeth whatever he Soweth. [Gurn v. Baramah Hajh.] Let us not blame any one, Whatever we act that we enjoy (and suffer); Karmas (actions) are ours, bondage is onrs too, Coming and going is the activity (business) of Māyā [Guru r.] In many births (we) became insects and moths ; In many births (we) became elephants, fish, and (leer; In many births (we) became birds and serpents; In many births (we) were yoked as steeds anal bullocks; Seek the Lord ! It is the surer (opportunity) of seeking ; after long ages this (human) body has been attained. Many lives (have we) wandered over mountains. Many lives (have we) been miscarried from the womb. Many lives (have we) been created as herbage. We have been made to wander through eighty-four lakhs of wombs. The association of the good hath let ils attain (this) birth. Serve thon, devotedly say Hari. This is the Guru's teachmg.
