They are showing a great enthusiasm, at the present moment, to set up claims and run to the Courts of Law for the settlement of issues. Everywhere, whether at Sametsikhar, at Pawapuri or at Rajgir, we hear of litigations cropping up from their endeavours to get equal rights in the control and management of the sacred places which the Jain Swetambari Community have been doing since the foundation of these shrines and temples. If things really go on in this way, then the Jain Community, as a whole, will have not only to pay dearly for it; but those monumental works as well of the Jain genius in art, architecture and sculpture will shortly disappear into the surrounding ruins. And it grieves us much therefore to find that the Digambaris are quarrelling with the Swetambaris without any just cause to advocate in claiming equal share with them.
