This Testimony is of two kinds.(a) Loukika (atfia) and (6) Shastraja (nieuw). • (a) Loukika sabda (entferiti r.) is the Verbal Testimony from reliable persons having authority to speak. (6) Sastraja sabda (tia 7) is the Scriptural Testimony. By scripture is meant that which was invented by self-realized persons who have seen truths and whose pronouncements in consequence are not incompatible with truths derived from perception. Now the Jain sages hold the Scriptural Knowledge to be of three different kinds, viz ; (1) Knowledge derived from the teachClassifica- ings, recorded or otherwise, of ku-devas or Sha straja bad spititual teachers.
