There are also some local varieties, such as those for the dialect of Tairong (Fig. 191, 3). Aitonia Character (Fig. 192) Another variety of the Shan scripts is used for Aiton or Aitonia or "Shan Doan," "Doan" meaning in Assamese "foreign tongue"; it is a dialect spoken in Sibsagar, Assam.
