The kapha dosha gets aggravated in the mornings, the pitta dosha in the afternoon, and the vata dosha in the evenings. To balance these, one can eat light foods to calm the morning kapha, cooling foods to calm the afternoon pitta, and unctuous foods to calm the evening vata.

Our body is constructed with the five elements which are worshipped in the Namaskara Mantra. Earth, water, fire, air and ether - these five combine and create the body, mind, feelings and one's nature. All the five combine in different proportions and have a corresponding influence on the individual's physical and emotional aspects. This leads to balance or imbalance in the body, known as dosha.
