________________ VIVEKACUDAMANI 307 sukhatanoủ: compacted of bliss. tava: of you, the ātman. yadadhyāsāt: by the delusion of (wrong identification of) your self with which. jani-mrti-jarā-duḥkha-bahula: full of the miseries of birth, death, old age and sorrow. iyam samsytih: this samsāra which is a fact of experience. prāptā: appears as acquired: prāptā iva bhāti. asmin ahařkartari: in this ahamkāra, 'the modification of sūksma sarira and which is actually anātman. ātmapratiphalajuşi: which captures the reflection of the ātman. svasthitimusi: that which diverts (lit: steals) the native condition of cidānanda by making one look outward. · aham iti matim sahasă munca: quickly give up the sense of the 'I' (in this ahamkāra). This is the supreme instruction. 307 For efficiently conveying the aforesaid meaning to the mind, the guru says with great concern: सदैपरूकस्य चिदात्मनो विभोः आनन्दमूर्तेरनवद्यकोर्तेः। नैवान्यथा क्वाप्यविकारिणस्ते विनाहमध्यासममुष्य संसृतिः॥३०७ ॥ sadaikarūpasya cidātmano vibhor ānandamūrter anavadyakīrteh naivānyathā kvāpyavikāriņaste vināhamadhyāsamamuşya samsytiḥ 11 Without (the operation of the super-imposition there cannot be this (subjection to) samsāra for you who are always of the same form, who are Absolute Knowledge, who are infinite, who are all bliss in constitution, of unimpeachable glory, and absolutely unchanging—never otherwise. All the adjuncts given here are very significant and purposive effectively suggesting the effects of the superimposition of ahamkāra,
