________________ 39 Page Blue is the color of Infinity. Whatever is immeasurable can appear to the mortal eye only as blue; thus a cloudless summer sky is blue to us. The yellow represents the earth. Anything that is buried in the earth gathers a yellowish hue, and in fire, earth (mud, silica) glows yellowish. Thus, Sri Narayan represents the immeasurable, all-pervading reality (blue color) clothed in earthy matter (yellow color), meaning Sri Narayan is the Infinite clothed in matter. He is the Infinity expressed through a finite form. विष्णु-वन्दना शान्ताकार भुजगशयनं पद्मनाभ सुरेश विश्वा धारं गगन सदृशं मेघवर्ण शुभाङ्गम् । लक्ष्मी कान्तं कमल नयनं योगिर्भिान गम्यं वन्दे विष्णु भव भय हर सर्व लोकैक नायम् SHANTA KARAM BHUJAG SHAYANAM PADMA NABHAM SURESHAM SHIKWAA DHAARAM GAGAN SADRISHAM MEGH VARNAM SHUBHANGAM LAKSHMI KÁNTAM KAMAL NAYANAM YOGIBHIR DHYAN GAMYAM VANDEY VISHNUM BHAW BHAY HARAM SARV LOKAIK NÄTHAM December 2006 HINDU SOCIETY OF NORTH CAROLINA CELEBERATION AND APPRICIATION (1978-2006)
