perfect well-being,3 the benefit of true vision,4 concentration supreme! May the siddhas, more pure that the lunar stars, more resplendent than the solar,5 as deep as the vast ocean, accord me Liberation!6

3 Perfect well-being: ärugga (ārogya), a state of freedom form both bodily and spiritual ills, which is always connected with the destruction of karmic
matter.
4 True vision: bohi (bodhi), awakening, illumination; according to the doctrine, the perfection of this awakened state constitutes omniscience, which is attained through arquisition of the Three Jewels, of which samyakdarśana, true vision, is the first; cf P 270 ff.

(6) evam mac abhithuā vihuyaraya-malā pahiņajara-maraṇā cauvisam pi jiņavarā titthayarā me pasiyaṁtu. (7) kittiya vaṁdiya mahiya jee logassa uttama siddhā āruggabohilābham samähivaramuttamam dimtu. (8) camdesu nimmalayarā āiccesu ahiyaṁ payāsayarā sägaravaragambhirā siddhā siddhim mama disaṁtu. (9) AvaS 3-9.
Verses 7-9 are at one and the same time a paean of praise and a prayer. There is no question but that the tirthankaras, now being siddhas, are enjoying the eternal beatitude of nirvāṇa and have not longer any dealings whatever with human beings. These prayers must be understood in the context of the pure devotion of the Jainas; in a poetic transport and inspired by a deep longing to imitate these jinas, heroes of the spiritual battle, the devotec leans for support, as it were, on their outstanding qualities and, carried away by this same longing, not unnaturally begs them to vouchsafe
