spirit realm; they are the spirit counterpart of their physical form. There must arrive the time when the spirit energies are transformed into their physical counterpart in order to bring about the desired chemical change. The healer is in attunement with both spirit and physical and becomes the transformer, and thus can be used as the medium for the beneficial energies to be given to the patient.
In healing, the patient is the first consideration, and the personality and nature will differ with each one. There is, however, the class that can be psychologically helped, those who feel they need the healer's presence and his hands to “smooth” away pain and discomfort. There is the class of people who suffer from fears and need the healer's assurance that they are groundless. A psychological appreciation becomes part of an experienced healer's understanding and is indeed most valuable. But for healers who may not have this experience, he or she should let the hands be used upon a patient, according to his or her impressions, to fulfill the healing purpose. What are the reported sensations of the patient?
One cannot give an answer to this question. Every patient is different; the disease is different and so is the intensity of the trouble. In general, however, patients feel that they have new strength, with a freedom from anxiety. If they have been suffering from sleeplessness, then sleep becomes more refreshing. Improvement is usually seen with the taking in of nourishment and especially 'with better respiration.
The patient invariably is conscious of having received help with the healing. The symptoms of stress lessen as the healing process is furthered. Can the patient be benefited simply by his proximity to a healer without conscious volition on the part of the healer?
