अज्ञानी का पश्चात्ताप जिस तरह कोई गाड़ीवान जान-बूझकर समतल विशाल मार्ग को छोड़कर विषम मार्ग में पड़ जाता है और गाड़ी की धुरी टूट जाने से पश्चात्ताप करता है, उसी तरह धर्म के मार्ग को छोड़कर अधर्म में पड़नेवाला अज्ञानी जीवन की धुरी टूट जाने पर मृत्यु के मुख में पड़ा हुआ पश्चात्ताप करता है।
