EDITOR'S INTRODUCTION
This book is intended to introduce the West to meditation, a system of meditation which has been practiced in the East for more than 2,500 years. The book was compiled and edited from extemporaneous talks given before various American audiences by Gurudev Shree Chitrabhanu on the fundamentals and philosophy of Dynamics of Meditation.
Gurudev Shree Chitrabhanu
Born in 1922, in Rajasthan, India, Gurudev took the vows of a Jain monk at the age of twenty, having been inspired by his father, who later joined him as a monk, and Mahatma Gandhi, with whom he worked for Indian freedom. The first five years of his monastic life were spent mostly in silence and meditation. Gurudev spent twenty-nine years as a monk.
