382. Bhuvanapala thus comments: --- यथा हि भुजङ्गरक्षिते निधिकलशे सभयसाभिलाषा दृष्टिर्निपतति
तथा समर्थपतिकापयोधरोत्सने दस्यूनां दृष्टिर्निपततीत्यर्थः । पक्को समर्थः । रतिभययो: स्थायिभावयोः संकरोत्र । उपमालंकारः । - पृ. २४४.
Note the v. 1. पक्कवइया (समर्थपतिका). Bhoja reads पोढ-महिला (प्रौढ-महिला). सभय frightened or nervous and covetous or greedy (glances); पक्वपतिका - woman whose husband is a mighty hero; स्तनोत्सङ्ग - the region of the breasts अहिरक्षित - (It is a popular belief that buried treasures are guarded by snakes) - ajar containing treasure (निधिकलश) guarded by a snake, (अहि snake, रक्षित guarded).
