________________ 280 ETHICAL DOCTRINES IN JAINISM The fourteenth Gunasthāna is immediately followed by disembodied liberation, which is a state of self beyond Guñasthānas. This state of self is the termination of mystic's journey. The Vedic, the Jaina and the Buddhist speculations concur remarkably with one another on the psychological, ethical and religious planes of existence. The cardinal virtues according to Jainism are: 1) Spiritual conversion, 2) Spiritual study, 3) Ahimsā, 4) Satya, 5) Asteya, 6) Brahmacarya, 7) Aparigraha, 8) Meditation, and 9) Devotion. Jaina Ethics is capable of bringing about the individual, the social, the national and the international progress. Jain Education International For Personal & Private Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
