heart. The rising of higher states of consciousness is nothing other than the experience how knowledge activates within us.
The widespread opinion that knowledge can only be gained through our senses, is wrong. Too often do we receive - by way of sudden intuitive insight - knowledge of objects and events that are hidden or far away, but certainly not in contact with our senses. Too often we act spontaneously and intuitively in a way we never 'trained before. Too often we access and use knowledge we didn't even know we had within us. And almost all reports of experiences of higher states of consciousness emphasize that these states arose without the help of the senses or material means.
SUTRA 11 BITÈ usta || 99 11 Adye paroksham (11) The first two channels give us indirect access to knowledge. (11)
We rarely become aware of indirect knowledge at the very point in time when the karmic bond dissolves that previously blocked its perception. Indirect knowledge always needs an external factor OUTSIDE our conscious control to make us aware of the new range of insights now accessible to us. Therefore all sensory knowledge (mati) and all knowledge from external sources (sruti) - books, teachers etc. - is called 'indirect'.
The primè cause for the activation of indirect knowledge is always and only the dissolution of karına that blocked our insight, never a particular event or the perception of an object.
The dissolution of karma opens our consciousness for a new range of experiences. Yet we usually do not become immediately aware of this opening. After the karmic blocks are removed we need sense
