SUTRA 7 निर्देशस्वामित्वसाधनाधिकरणस्थितिविधानतः ॥ ७ ॥ Nirdesha svamitva sadhan adhikarana sthiti vidhanatah (7) We develop Total Perception - pramana - by - directing our attention towards this particular ability of our
consciousness (nirdesha) - by recognizing and accepting the insights we gain as our own
(svainitva) - by becoming aware of its mechanisms and features (sadhana) - by discovering what causes it to arise (adhikarana) - by consciously prolonging its duration (sthiti) and - by allowing Total Perception to influence our life (vidhana). (7)
The sutra describes how to expand an ability we commonly regard as nothing special into a tool to access more advanced states of consciousness.
The six steps listed are easily put into practice. They direct our attention to regions of our consciousness to which we have access, but which we never purposefully explored. They offer us a simple method how to systematically utilize highly complex knowledge.
The following description illustrates how the six steps can be applied to unfold our intuitive orientation towards growth: - Directing our attention (nirdeshia) - is the main key to all new knowledge. As trivial as this may sound, as important it is for the exploration of all new levels of experience. Without directing our attention towards new, previously unknown experiences, we will never go beyond the familiar limits of our life.
