SUTRAS
THE KEY TO THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE
21
Yet we also know that our intuition may easily lead us astray and cause undesired results.
This book therefore describes a special feature of intuitive comprehension that excludes error and flawed understanding. The Sanskrit term for this special feature is 'samyag darshana'; in this book it is called 'Orientation towards Growth'.
Intuitive orientation towards growth is a natural, inherent ability of our consciousness, which everyone can unfold. The author of the Tattvarthasutra demonstratively positions this ability at the very start of his work and thereby emphasizes its central importance for our development.
Orientation towards growth is like a red line that leads from our present situation directly to the highest dimensions of our consciousness. It enables us to spontaneously and with unerring assuredness select only those actions that propel us towards ever widening perception and towards realizing the immense abilities dormant within us. It allows us to intuitively identify flawed information and exclude them from our path.
Intuitive orientation towards growth is the essential key for a type of expansion that leads to freedom from all restricting influences. Its development and application is the guiding theme of all the topics of this book.
Yet this feature of samyag darshana (orientation towards growth) is only the practical expression of this far more comprehensive term. The entire scope and depth of samyag darshana is revealed in the second sutra.
Sutra 3 describes how to develop our intuitive orientation towards growth and how to expand its range.
Sutra 15 explains how to use this type of intuition to access hidden parts of our reality. 2 - Knowledge that makes us recognize and understand this un
folding of consciousness (sanıyag jnana) opens our awareness for the mechanisms that make our hidden abilities become real.
