SUTRAS
THE KEY TO THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE
113
3 - Growing (vardhamana) - We recognize ever more subtle areas of
life. Our ability develops in the same degree in which we advance our orientation towards growth. The expansion of our
perception is not limited. 4 - Decreasing (hiyamana) - Our ability declines in the same degree
as our orientation towards growth decreases. The regions we cognize are more and more reduced until we perceive (almost)
nothing beyond our senses 5 - Steady (avasthita) Our extrasensory abilities neither increase nor
decrease. They continue in the intensity and range in which they emerged. Their scope and steadiness mirror the stability
and intensity of our orientation towards growth. 6 - Changeable (anavasthita) - Our insight into the world beyond
the senses is as unsteady as a wave moved by the wind. It increases and deteriorates in the same degree as our orientation
towards growth increases or declines. Through extrasensory perception we receive true as well as erroneous information.
In our last incarnation before reaching ultimate freedom (moksa), the fleeting, decreasing and changeable varieties of extrasensory perception cease to arise.
SUTRA 23 grayseat Hai TUU: || 23 || Rjuvipulamati manahparyayah (23) Direct perception of the consciousness of others (manah-paryaya) occurs in two intensities: - in simple form (rijumati) and - as deep, comprehensive insight (vipulainati). (23)
