The B.P. observes that as the nātikā, totaka and sattaka share the characteristics of nātaka as well as prakarana in parts, their definitions were cited there (tatra, i.e. along with nătaka, prakaraṇa etc. the rūpakas, i.e. in Chs. VII and VIII also.) Ch. VII. B.P. (pp. 260, Edn. Agrawal ibid) reads :
"rasāśrayā yady api syur nātikā-toțakā”dayah nāțakā"dişv athaitesām
antarbhāvān na te prthak.” As natikā, totaka (and sattaka) are 'rasāśraya' varieties - This division follows the DR.) -, they are included in nāțaka etc. (the major forms of drama). It is further observed that (VII. 5, 6; pp. 261, ibid)
"nātikāyā nāțakasyā’bhedaḥ prakaraṇasya vā. satrakas toțakasyaiva bheda ity abhidhīyate. toțakasyocyate sadbhir antarbhāvo’pi nāțake, nāļakā"der ayam bhedo, nātikā rūpakam bhavet nātikā-pratimatvāc ca sattako’pi tathāvidhaḥ.” nāțake toțakasyántar bhāvād-rūpakam eva saḥ. divya-mānușa-samyogas toțakam nāțakánugam, navāștā-sapta-pañcāńkam, divya-mānusa-sangamam. toțakam nāma-tat prāhur bhedo nāțaka-sambhavaḥ.
