COMPASSIONATE BHAGAVAN MAHAVIR
Indra, the king of gods, requested Mahavir
Prabho ! The path of your practices is very hard. Ignorants will inflict pain on you time and again. Please allow me to be with
you to serve you.
Mahavir replied
King of gods ! It has never happened, nor will it ever happen that an Arihant (during his period of practices) desires for help from
some one when he faces any trouble. A Tirthankar attains liberation only through
his own inner strength and courage.
Mahavir's answer made Indra bow his head with respect. He summoned one of his Vyantar gods* and instructed
Prabhu Mahavir does not seek our services. However, to serve him is our duty. You will remain in his
service all the time.
After bowing before Bhagavan Indra left.
