28. नयसार-भैतिक एवं देवत्व
जम्बू-द्वीप के पश्चिम में महाप्रवर राज्य में शत्रुमर्थन नामक राजा के यहाँ नयसार नामक अंगरक्षक रहता था। उसने एक बार राजा की आज्ञा के अनुसार जंगल में जाकर राज्य की जरुरतों के वास्ते लकडी राज्य में भेजते हुए अपने काम-काज को यथा रीति से निभाते हुए, उस जंगल में ही अपने को अतिथि के रूप में दर्शन देने वाले समुद्र सेन नामक जैन-मुनि और उनके शिष्यों को देखा । उन्हें बड़े भक्ति भाव से आतिथ्य किया। उनकी कृपा का पात्र बना। वह देहान्त होने पर सौधर्मकल्प नामक स्वर्ग में एक “पाल्योपाम'' समय-पर्यन्त देवताओं का अतिथि बन कर रहा। फिर एक और जन्म लेने के लिये उतर कर आया ।
28 NAYASARA - PHYSICAL LIFE AND ASCENT TO HEAVEN (FIRST OF THE PREVIOUS LIVES)
In the Kingdom of Mahapravara lying to the west of Jambudvipa, there served in the court of King Shatrumardana, a body guard by name Nayasara. Once, in obedience to the king's command, Nayasara went into the forest to bring timber for governmental purposes. While he was bringing the timber to the kingdom he was accosted on the way by a Jaina Monk by name Samudrasena. Then and there, Nayasara played host to the unexpected guest and his disciples with devotion and reverence. The Jaina muni was so pleased with the services of Nayasara that he gave him the boon of staying for a Paloypama Kala in the Swarga named Saudharmakalpa after giving up the physical body. Here, Nayasara enjoyed the company of the Gods as their guest. After the effect of the boon had been spent, the soul of Bhagavan Mahavira returned to the earth to take birth again.
