________________ right dependence of sacred padas-sentences and incantations, is PADASTHA DHYANA". In this process, meditation of ARHAM with lotus forms and Nadas is especially prescribed. ARHAM-the indicator of ARIHANT PARAMATMA is at par with Omkara. In taking dependence of the Pada of Arham, it begins with Sthoola (Gross) Nada (Sound) and goes unto Sookshma (Subtle) Nada. In other words, it commences with the “Veikhari” type of speech-sounds, passes through the states and stages of “Madhyama” and “Pashyanti” and reaches unto "Para”. In the practice of Padastha Dhyana the place of the conjugation of Nada is at the top of it all, because, as a result of it, Nirvikalpa Dasha (State of thoughtlessness) is easily achieved. Again, from this external (Ahat) Nada, the internal (Anahat) Nada is born through scientific yogic process. PINDASTHA DHYANA : "Pindastham - Sharirsthasya Dhyanam” and “Pindastham Swatma Chintanam”: these phrases of definitions indicate the meditation of either the Siddha/Arihanta having body or of the Self. This stage is the further progress from the stage of Padastha Dhyana. There is a very interesting process of the internal voyage of these Dhyanas. Limitations here prevent its narration. 35 Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
