Pranabananda Jash is Professor in the Department of Ancient Indian History Culture & Archaeology, Visva-Bharati, Shantiniketan, West Bengal. He has also published History of Saivism (1974), History and Evolution of Vaisnavism in Eastern India (1982). He has also completed a project on the History of Religion in Ancient Bengal, sponsored by UGC.
