Küge Brahmadeva pillar caused in honour of Mārasimha - II, the Ganga king and a great hero of many battles. Kūge Brahmadeva pillar is a variety of manastambha, a jaina characteristic pillar of eminence. The tall column, with the figure of a seated Brahma on the top, facing east was set up to commemorate the death of Marasimha, the Ganga monarch, in C.E. 974, the period synchronising the culmination of the early Gangas.
