Jainism says that an object or an idea can progress further only if you make efforts which are consistent with your intrinsic nature. If you fail doing so, you would feel dejected. Performance of one's own duty at a particular moment in life in accordance with one's own intrinsic nature is "Swadharma Arjuna's dejection was because of his effort to resort to "Para Dharma" (Some one else's duty) neglecting his own duty (Swa-Dharma) as a warrior.
