CHAPTER ONE
ARJUNA VISHAD YOGA
"Vishada" means dejection or depression. It was caused to Arjuna when his charioteer Lord Krishna brought his chariot in the midst of the armies of both the sides and when he saw that his own nearst relatives, elders, friends and well wishers were arrayed in battle against each other and he was supposed to fight the very persons he loved and respected. Arjuna was the top ranking warrior of his time. He belonged to the warrior class of the society whose duty was to fight when called upon to do so. Through his life he had fought and won many battles and had never moved away from violence which was inevitable in any battle which he had to fight. So, he was never afraid of bloody wars and violence involved. Therefore the question is why he became depressed at the very idea of a fight now?
