The battle that is fought is the one between good and evil, between light and darkness and the kingdom which was to be won only with the help and guidance of the Supreme Soul who is the Spirit which pervades the universe and which is the real source which attracts all things animate as well as inanimate and is, therefore, known as “Krishna” (verb (317) akrush means to attract).
This is how a Jain would perceive the setting of Gita and Mahabharata.
