Thus this chapter ends with the end of the description of different aspects of Bhakti Yoga that is started from chapter 6.
Though the whole philosophical structure of Jainismis built on Jnaana Yoga, the Jain saints have given due prominence to Bhakti also. However, the type of Bhakti envisaged by Jain thinkers is not the one, which is personal and motivated. The purpose of idol worship by Jains is to acquire merits, which were possessed by the great Tirthankaras (Prophets) in their life. An idol to a true Jain is nothing more than the represntation of the virues of a particular prophet. The prophet whose representation is made by a particular idol, was a “Vitaraga” i.e. one who was not suffering from any of the passions such as anger, avarice, attachment or hate.
