Chapter- 3 Karma Yoga
In the previous chapter Krishna elaborately discussed the theory of Karma (action) along with Yoga knowledge (Buddhi) without attachment. While doing so, in verse No. 49 he said: "Oh Dhananjaya! Action is far inferior to Buddhi Yoga and in the next verse which followed he said “योग: कर्मसु कौशलम् । ” meaning Yoga is skill in action. Then in verses No. 62 to 72 the Lord extolled the virtues of the non-attached intellect.
All this raised genuine doubt in Arjuna's mind about the wisdom of the action of joining the war. He there for said:

॥ अर्जुन उवाच ॥
ज्यायसी चेत्कर्मणस्ते मता बुद्धिर्जनार्दन । तत्कि कर्मणि धोरे मां नियोजयसि केशव Arjuna Said.
"Oh Janardana, you declare that the attitude of a detached mind is superior to action. If that is so, O Keshava why do you urge me to participate in this deadly action of war ?" - 1 व्यामिश्रेणेव वाक्येन बुद्धिं मोहयसीव मे । तदेकं वद निश्चित्य येन श्रेयोऽहमाप्नुयाम्
