Pratişthāpanā śuddhi is the purification of the manner of disposing of such things as hairs and nails, and the discharges from the nose, the mouth etc., (with full regard for the avoidance of injury to any kind of lifc), in conformity with the practices of the place and time.
Sayanāsana śuddhi is the purification of the place of sleeping. The sūdhu should not spend the night at a place occupied by females, low personages, thieves, gamblers, drunkards, palmists (gypsios), and the liko. Hlo should not stay at a place which contains pictures of private bodily) organs, or in a place where men gather together for sport, play, danciog, and other like pursuits ; nor where a festival is taking place, whore cattle are tethered or arıns stored, or which is used as a gymnasium The places which engender a feeling of attachment and the like, and which give rise to, or are associated with, exhibitions of pride, conceit, sorrow, anger and affliction, should also be avoided. The muni selects such places as a cave on the side of a hill, hollows in the trunks of trees, and unoccupied dwellings reserved for the use of saints by pious householders. The saint should not lie down except to sleep. He may not
