(I) á hereafter and a future lise :
(2) the existence of a soul as apart from the body,
except in Buddhism where a nucleus of sanskaras (karmic forces) is posited as the
basis of transmigration ; (3) the possibility of a better life in the future;
(4) the freedom of human will to make or mar
its future by following the right path or
its antithesis ; and (5) the existence of some kind of divine life,
manifesting itself in certain deified Beings,
or gods, or in one monotheistic god. Their differences may also be summed up as falling
under the following heads :(1) the nature, names and functions of divinity,
and the number of Gods ; (2) the nature and origin of the world ; (3) the nature and prospects of the soul, includ.
ing transmigration and resurrection, and (4) the means of obtaining the summum bonum
including ahimsd and sacrifice of living animals and men,
These points will be generally found to cover all the satures of resemblance as well as dissimilarity among
