Jesus, claimed the status of divine Sonship for the whole of the human race; the worldly distinca tion of birth was not only not authorized, but was actually denounced by him. Such petty, hypocritical distinctions vanish before great minds. Thus, those who lived according to the Divine commandments were truly the Sons of God, while those who followed the principle of Evil, that is, who lived in defiance of the commandments of God, were the Sons of Devil. The whole thing was merely a question of how one lived. The expression, 'Son of Man,' is generally printed in the Bible with a capital “S.” Why this emphasis on the word “Son?” Anyone who is at all familiar with the oriental way of describing races and individuals would never think of attaching any importance to it. It is but very rarely that the expression bears reference to Jesus himself. “Son of man'has no greater inherent rirtue in it than the son of fairy,' the 'son of deva,' and the like. In the Persian language, adam-zâd means son of man, pari-zâd son of fairy, and deva-zâd son of deva (demon.) What is there in the expression, son of man (adam-zâd in Persian), to reflect any distinction on Jesus? The reason why Jesus rarely used the first person singular for himself is obvious to any one who has studied his life and teachings. He understood fully that happiness, spirituality, and power are meant for him who wipes out his egoism, and offers his little bodily self as a sacrifice on the altar of the highest and the only true Self.
