Mahavir's Samosaran (sermon) on Ahimsa That samosaran in Pava became a dialogue between Mahavir and a shravak. The shravak asked, “Bhagwan, you ask for total ahimsa, but is that ever possible? Do we not kill and destroy many lives when we eat food, drink water, or breathe air? While walking we kill many insects under our feet. How can we live without such violent activities? How can we live a totally non-violent life?"
