He could have added that Durga also on the Nir. 5.22 gives conversely asphära as the meaning of devana i.e. adhidevana. The Náradasmsti 17.5 aśuddhah kitavo nānyad āśrayed dyūtamandalam can very well mean: "a gambler who has not cleared himself of the dues should not go to another dyūtasabhā."
