Rev Shri Amrender Muni Ji rendered devoted service to his Gurus, Rev Shri Shukal Chand Ji Maharaj and Rev Shri Sushil Kumar Ji Maharaj. He treated his Guru's word as the word of God and obeyed him without question. He was Shri Shukal Chand Ji Maharaj's youngest, and favourite disciple and Shri Shukal Chand Ji Maharaj bestowed several siddhis (powers) on him, which Shri Amrender Muni Ji earned by his love and devotion. As a result, he is a master of the science of mantra, tantra, yantra and jyotish.
He has shared some of this knowledge with us in a later section.
On the path of Yoga and Meditation
Revered Shri Amrender Muni Ji is a yogi and self realized master of a very high caliber. He started seriously practicing at the feet of his Guru after his initiation at the age of 14 years. After attaining many divine powers he decided that he wanted to achieve that ultimate spiritual goal after attaining which nothing in the material world has any value.
Knowledge quenches the thirst of the seeker, whereas yoga awakens the sleeping powers in the seeker. To elevate human qualities and bestow lasting happiness, yoga sadhana is essential. In the Yoga Sutras, Patanjali had outlined eight steps or disciplines to purify the mind and lead to enlightenment. Practice of these eight steps is called Ashtanga Yoga. Yam, niyam, usana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana and samadhi are the 8 limbs of yoga. 1. Yama: These are codes of restraint,(Don'ts) or abstinences / self
regulations The yamas or restraints (Don'ts) are divided into five moral injuctions. They should be practiced in word, thought and deed. • Ahinsa or non-violence • Satyam or truthfulness
